South Shore Sea Burials performs attended and unattended scattering of cremated human remains at sea. The fleet includes vessels for intimate family groups as well as larger gatherings, with departures from Point Lookout and Freeport.
Services are presided over by Captain John Clinton, a licensed U.S.C.G. Master Captain who has navigated the waters off Jones Beach and the South Shore of Long Island for more than 20 years. His background also includes a career as a Detective with the Nassau County Police Department.
Families of all faiths, as well as non-religious families, are welcome. Ceremonies may be simple or may include prayer, music, flowers, military honors and family participation.
